Father-to-Son Mentoring. CEO Adam Orandi studied Business Administration at the University of Minnesota. He supplements this education with the Advancements in Pistachio Cultivation Program offered by the University of California, Davis. In 2012 he completed the American Pistachio Growers’ Leadership Program and continues to serve as a board member on both the Marketing Committee and the New Products Committee. Earlier in his career, however, he apprenticed beginning since high school for his father—Dr. Mehdi Orandi—learning all aspects of both pistachio farming and processing.

The Orandi Orchards. Our first pistachio seeds were planted in 1970 by Dr. Mehdi Orandi, a legendary pistachio-industry pioneer and trailblazer. These seeds have flourished into the existing 11 orchards that comprise Orandi Ranch covering an expansive 600 acres in Terra Bella, California. Varying in age from the oldest most mature performing trees to newer developing sapling orchards, today the land, trees, and crops are nurtured and maintained by Dr. Mehdi Orandi and his son, CEO Adam Orandi.

Nut-hing replaces teaching like that of a father–son business, forging ahead with innovative harvesting methods and sub-species crop development now thriving in its tenth generation.

On-Site ARO Processing Plant. We process all of our pistachio nuts on-site in our ARO Pistachios, Inc. facility at harvest, which is scheduled according to Nature. We perform traditional harvesting with shaker machinery and follow with a second phase of hand-picking to collect any remaining ripe pistachio nuts on the trees which also aids to preserve and maintain the health and sanitation of our orchards. With hands-on quality assurance we hull, wash, dry, grade, and roast pistachios on-site for maximum quality assurance from branch to bag to you.
